Travel Tummy Tammer: An Aromatic Remedy
I've done enough trips away from home to have learned my
belly just doesn't like it. Whether it's the stress and worry about sleeping
away from home, eating unfamiliar foods or drinking unfamiliar water, I have
learned the value of having a travel kit for my gut.
Without getting into all the ugly details, colic and bowel upset are awful,
especially when you are supposed to be away having fun. Emergency trips to
walmart to buy tea, metamucil, or jumping off the bus to gnaw on a raw lump of
ginger bought from the grocery store for a sudden bought of nausea have been
common expenses for myself. After completing my aromatic training I decided
enough. Time to make something I could keep on the go, to deal with my most
common complaints; colic, bloating and constipation.
The tummy tamer blend I created consists of pink grapefruit, ginger, lavender,
fennel and cardamom. These oils are commonly employed for treating bloating,
pain and sluggish digestion. For a Whole Family Friendly blend, omitting the
fennel and cardamom would make it safe for children between the ages of 2 and
10. Some other Whole Family Friendly EO's to consider for digestive aid include
spearmint, most of the citruses, black pepper, dill weed, and roman chamomile.
A lovely blend could include roman chamomile, spearmint and lavender. Another
could be roman chamomile, ginger, lemon and black pepper.
The adults only version of this blend if available for
purchase at the office with a Whole Family Friendly version coming soon.
